Alaska The Last Frontier

Despite what anyone tells you about a cruise to Alaska… do it! It was one of the most relaxing and refreshing vacations I’ve ever taken.

We started our 7 day cruise on Holland America Line in Seattle, Washington. Our first stop was Juneau, Alaska’s capital city.  You can only reach it by boat or seaplane. We were lucky enough to get there on a 70 degree day in June, which can be rare.  Then we took brisk hike to Mendenhall Glacier, a 13 mile long sheet of ice,  for some fabulous pictures.

Another stop on our journey was Ketchikan. The city is known for it’s huge number of Native American totem poles.  It was a perfect place to do a little shopping.  Although it’s rich in wildlife, we never saw any black bears.

The last stop on our 7 day adventure was back in Seattle. Again, we couldn’t believe the spectacular weather we had, barely any rain for one of the wettest cities in the country.
