Destination Dubai

I was quite surprised by our recent trip to Dubai… it was one of those places on my bucket list that I wanted to make sure to visit. I was not disappointed.

Dubai is the largest city in the United Arab Emirates, on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf.

A trip to Dubai wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the desert, dunes busting and camel riding.
The Dubai Marina was beautiful.

The city has a number of Souk’s or markets that sell fabrics, spices, gold and a number of other items.

There are a number of beaches around the city, and this one had the incredible backdrop of the Burj Al Arab an incredible 5 star hotel.

This is about as close as I’ll get to the Burj Al Arab. Rooms in this hotel run $1,500+ a night.

Inside one of the more upscale Souks.

One of the best views you’ll get of the city is from the Burj Kalifa… it holds the record for the world’s tallest building. The city is a constant blend of old and new, with incredible architecture.

The Burj Kalifa can be seen from most parts of the city, towering 2,716.5 feet over downtown.

The Observation Deck is on the 124th floor. It takes just one minute to ascend to the top in the elevator.
